I walk the attic and rooms with you and show you where air gets in.
Request an estimateWhy is my Fort Worth house drafty, and will air sealing fix it?
Air sealing closes the gaps that let outside air into your house, so rooms stop feeling drafty, your heating and cooling don't work as hard, and less moisture gets into the wood. Apex Fort Worth Spray Foam Insulation does air sealing services in Fort Worth and in many of the cities around it.
Most people call about a room that never gets comfortable, an upstairs that runs hot or a power bill that keeps going up when nothing else changed. Those usually come from air slipping through gaps you can't see, which is why more insulation alone often doesn't fix them. The price moves with how big and how leaky the house is, how easy the attic is to get into, and whether old material full of droppings has to come out first through insulation removal. The schedule mostly turns on anything that has to be repaired before we seal, and on whether you're adding insulation afterward. I'll give you your own number when I come out for the estimate.
How our air sealing services work
I start by walking the house with you, because the leaks you can see are often not the ones that matter most. We test the house before we touch anything, so we know how much air is moving and where to look, and if you have gas appliances we have their venting checked at that point too. Then our crew goes after the hidden gaps around can lights, plumbing and wiring holes, the attic hatch and the tops of the interior walls. If I find something that has to be fixed first, I tell you plainly before any work goes on top of it. When the sealing is done, we test the house again and have the venting checked again, so you know the work did what it should, and we clean up before we leave.
Most houses don't need foam everywhere. Sealing the gaps and topping up loose fill usually does the job for less, but when your ductwork runs through the attic, closed-cell foam insulation, a dense foam that also blocks moisture, can be worth its higher cost because it seals and insulates in one layer. If your house has a basement, the seam where the wood framing sits on the foundation leaks more than people expect, and we often seal it as part of basement insulation.
Air sealing services in Fort Worth and the city's energy code
Fort Worth's city code adopts a national energy code and adds local amendments of its own, so the work in your attic has a city rulebook behind it and not just a general guide. Before work starts, we check with the city's building office about what your job needs and take care of any permit and inspection on our end. You're welcome to ask me how any step we take fits the city's energy code, and you should get a straight answer.
On jobs here we see a lot of attics where the ductwork, and sometimes a gas furnace or water heater, sits right above the ceiling, so the sealing has to be planned around them. We see the same setups on jobs in Haltom City and North Richland Hills, and we handle them the same way.
Why call us for air sealing
I give the estimate myself
I come out to look at your house and give the estimate in person, and I run the work alongside our install crew. The person who found your leaks is the one making sure they get sealed.
In business since 2020
I started this business in 2020 after learning insulation on a Fort Worth crew. Six years in, we're still known for the prep, because sealing over a problem nobody checked won't do much for you.
Fully licensed and insured
We're fully licensed and insured. That matters because our crew works in your attic, around your wiring and right over your ceilings.
You see what we found
I show you what the test and the walk-through turned up, and what has to come first. I want you to understand your house a little better when we leave.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know my home needs air sealing?
Drafty rooms, big temperature differences from room to room, high heating or cooling bills and dust collecting below the attic are the usual warning signs. If you're seeing any of them, your house might be a good candidate to have looked at. The test we run before the work shows how much air is really moving.
Can I seal air leaks in my house myself?
You can handle the obvious ones yourself, like gaps around door frames and the holes where pipes and wires come through. Caulk works for small gaps and spray foam for larger ones, and caulk near a heat source should be rated for high temperatures. The small leaks hidden under attic insulation are another story, and professionals find those with a blower door test, a big fan that pulls air through the house, and an infrared camera.
Is air sealing safe if I have gas appliances in my house?
It is when the appliances are tested for proper drafting before and after the sealing. A tighter house can sometimes make a gas or oil furnace or water heater pull its exhaust back inside instead of sending it up the vent. That's why we have the venting checked on both sides of the job.
How much does air sealing cost in Fort Worth?
Insulation work that includes air sealing in Fort Worth usually costs about $900 to $4,000 per job. That's what the market charges for bundled jobs where sealing comes with insulation, so a house that needs repairs first or a lot of new material lands toward the top. Your own number comes from the estimate visit, once I've seen the attic.
What should be fixed in my attic before air sealing?
Wet insulation, moldy or rotted framing and vents that blow into the attic instead of outside should be corrected by a professional before any sealing. Wet insulation usually means the roof leaks, so that gets fixed first, and old knob and tube wiring can be a fire hazard near insulation. I'd rather tell you to call a roofer than seal over a problem that's still there.
What is the best way to plan air sealing and attic insulation together?
Seal first and insulate second, because once new insulation goes down the gaps under it are buried. The usual advice is to finish the attic insulation after the sealing project, so book them in that order. Some openings stay open on purpose, like soffit, ridge and gable vents and combustion air ducts, because they only work with air moving through them.
Other work that often goes with air sealing
Basement insulation
Bare concrete basement walls let warmth slip out, and insulating them keeps the floors above warmer and makes the space easier to use year round.
Closed-cell foam insulation
When ducts or moisture are part of the problem, a dense sprayed foam seals and insulates in one pass and stands up to damp better than loose fill does.
